The Angelou Centre is a black-led women’s NGO based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We offer a range of holistic women only services for BME women across the region. We also work at strategic & national levels ensuring the voices of BME women are represented. 

Hi, I’m Danielle – trainee integrative therapist and creator of BAME in Mind.
This lifestyle blog was born out of my frustrations with the lack of representation across the mental health field as well as across the blogosphere. BAME in Mind centres around mental health and wellbeing and my aim is to dispel the stigma attached to mental health issues one post at a time.

Boloh was established in October 2020 with funding from the National Emergencies Trust to provide culturally informed signposting, advice and therapeutic support for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic children, young people and families affected by the pandemic. The service was set up in response to disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on these communities.  

Our organisation has been supporting the voluntary sector and communities of Tyneside since 1929. In our 90-year history we have helped to establish well-known charities that are still thriving today
